Summer Winter in Burlington

Thanks to a Chowhounds post for bringing my attention to a new restaurant opening in Burlington.

Summer Winter, a new American restaurant, will open in October at the Burlington Marriot. It will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant is a culinary collaboration between chefs Mark Gaier and Clark Frasier. Gaier and Fraiser are the chefs/owners of the renowned Arrows Restaurant located in Ogunquit, Maine. The menu is said to be a seasonal, modern American menu with fresh ingredients grown on-site.

With the involvement of Gaier and Fraser, this new restaurant could be excellent. I will post more details when they become available.

If Summer Winter is one quarter as good as Arrows, the good folks on the north shore are in for a treat. Arrows is simply spetacular and amazing! We are heading up there in mid-November for dinner for our anniversary - our third time and it's truly a special special place.

The GM of the new restaurant is Kevin MacDormand, who came from 43 Degrees North fame in Portsmouth, NH.

Major talent, enforces perfection in food and service and is PASSIONATE about wines.

Okay a little update about Summer Winter, the restaurant had its grand opening reception on Nov 1st, but its set to open to the public this comming thursday nov 8th, please call and make reservations as the restaurant reservations line gets 25-46 reservations a day.

Had dinner at Arrows this past weekend. Amazing and magical experience! Best meal (and wine combo) that I have ever had in the U.S.
Can't wait for them to open.

Went to Summer and Winter last night!
The service is superb, without the Arrows "tude". The menu is somewhat boring and overpriced given it's simplicity (meat and choose a startch, pay extra for veggies), but given the restaurant is in the Marriott and in Burlington, it's unreasonable to expect a more ambitious menu.
