Chocolee Chocolates: New Additions

It is certainly not a secret that I love Chocolee Chocolates and there is much going on with this fine chocolate store. Though it seems like they only opened yesterday, they are nearing their One Year Anniversary. In January, Yankee Magazine will feature them as one of the top spots in the country for confections.

In addition, the passionate chocolatier, Lee Napoli, has gradually expanded her product line, formerly just truffles and filled candies, to include some exciting new items for Winter 2008:

· Chocolate-Caramel Fudge Sauce: Don’t even pretend you’re gonna ladle it daintily over vanilla ice cream for guests … just warm it up in the microwave and grab a big spoon. Also comes in spicy Chocolate-Poblano. $5.50 for eight ounces & $10.95 for 16 ounces.

· Custom-Filled Eclairs: Available weekends only. These 4-inch, airy treasures are filled when you order them, not before, so their crunchy-creamy integrity is still intact by the time you eat them. $3 each.

· Brandied Chestnut Chocolates: Marinated for a month in the shop’s basement, chopped fine, then whipped into ganache and coated in dark chocolate.

· Chocolate Bark: In choice of white chocolate peppermint or dark chocolate toasted almond. Buy plenty, as this simple but sumptuous candy tends to disappear rapidly. $23/lb.

· Chocolate Holiday Ornaments: For thee, or for the tree. Delicate 3” milk chocolate spears on a cord dangle nicely wherever you hang them (until devoured). Three for $14.
