Bistro 5: Heirloom Tomato Tasting

Heirloom tomatoes come into full-swing season every September and at Bistro 5, they have made it a tradition to create a special tasting menu featuring these luscious fruits. In fact fresh tomato makes but one Bistro 5 cameo per year -now, when local rare heirloom varieties are at their very best.

So stop by Bistro 5 this month for their special Tomato Feast!

You can get a Three Course Menu for $45 with Wine Pairing for an additional $18. Or select the Five Course Menu for $65 with Wine Pairing for an additional $22.

Yellow Brandywine sorbet, Jalapeño pasta & Scallop ceviche
Paired with 2008 Le Bruniche, Chardonnay, Tuscany

Evoo Fried Green Tomatoes
Green Zebra Tomatoes, Buffalo mozzarella & Opal basil pesto
Paired with 2008 Caposaldo, Pinto Grigio, Veneto

Duck Ravioli
Smoked Speckled Roman Tomato, Shaved parmigiano & Prosciutto
Paired with 2007 Five Rivers, Pinot Noir

Berkshire Pork Loin
Aussie Tomatoes with pickled ginger & Marinated eggplant
Paired with 2005 Sartori, Valpolicella

Tomato...Sweet Tomato
Organic Peach Tomato Napoleon, Basil yogurt gelato & Vanilla bean crème Anglaise
Paired with Montaribaldi Moscato, Italy

My readers know I am a big fan of Bistro 5, and the courses sound delicious to me. I will definitely be checking out this menu, maybe multiple times. If you love tomatoes, or just good food, then I highly recommend you check out this dinner.
